Mexican Shrimp & Bacon

Bacon — it's so delicious that you can pretty much wrap anything inside it and get a smorgasbord of heaven on a toothpick. There are many filler option to consider, they ALL WORK !

We are recommending that you try the shrimp & bacon option using our dry-cured and smoked bacon.  This recipe has been tried and tested by bacon worshippers around the world and is guaranteed to earn you the respect of a Master Chef :)


  • 250g Porkies Dry Cured Bacon

  • 12 Large shrimp

  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • Zest from 1 lime

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 6 slices bacon

  • 12 toothpicks


  1. Preheat the oven to 230 degrees C.

  2. In a small bowl, stir the lime zest, lime juice, oil and chili powder to make a paste and coat the shrimp in the chili-lime mixture

  3. Cut each piece of bacon in half and wrap the coated shrimp in the bacon slices and secure the bacon with toothpicks.

  4. Place the bacon wrapped shrimp in a broiling pan lined with aluminum foil and cover with the remaining chili-lime mixture.

  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the bacon is crisp.
